Modeling Tip: Spreading Dirt and Earth on Dioramas2 min read

Check out all the photos below for this weeks tip on putting dirt and ground scenery material in tight spots! Read the captions for each photo! Enjoy the weekend!

Step 1:

When we try to get scenery material like dirt, grass, ground foam into the tight little areas of a layout or around a building or diorama, it sometimes can be frustrating and you could make a huge mess if you dont have a steady hand….sometimes its just impossible too…..but this handy cheap homemade tool can help you out to make it a breeze!

Step 2:

take a 3×5 index card and fold it in half…like the photo..

Step 3:

Cut the card while folded at an angle, about 45 degrees that it will give a nice pointed end.

Step 4:

Put your ground material of choice in the card and put the tip into the area you want to cover, directly over the area you placed wet glue or scenery mix….

Step 5:

Just lightly tap the base or back of the card as you hold it, and gently fill in where needed in those tough spots! take your time!
